Zoom Anthurium clavigerum

Anthurium clavigerum

The lobes of the Anthurium Clavigerum leaves change dramatically in both shape and number as the plant matures.

These plants prefer bright light, with moderate to higher humidity.

Try to keep the soil of these plants lightly damp, and avoid letting the soil dry out excessively between watering. If left dry for too long the leaves will dry up and turn brown. If this happens, try sitting the pot in a deep tray and water thoroughly so that water drains out of the bottom of the pot and fills the tray a bit.  Then let the plant sit in that tray of water for at least 10 min so that the rootball rehydrates thoroughly.

Anthurium Clavigerum will tolerate average household humidity, but you might see the most active growth in humidity over 60% if you can provide it.

If the plant is only producing smaller leaves, we find the leaves mature best when:
- given consistent bright, indirect light
- the soil is kept slightly moist, and doesn't dry out completely between watering
- given a trellis or support to climb
